Worldbuilders Project
World Builders School Project, Sheffield, 2022 – 2023
I ran a series of school workshops for Worldbuilders – a CPD programme for teachers run by University of Sheffield and funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation.
The project’s aim was to encourage literacy through games. I built three game projects which were used in several schools:
- Devising an escape room by defining a narrative and exploring puzzle building techniques. Children then made physical prototypes to play test each others games.
- Building platformers using stories in the classroom (Sheffield Flood and Egyptians), make real world obstacle courses and then building digital versions.
- Creating a new version of Guess Who using databases and scientific information based around the theme of space.
